One Death from Dengue, 16 New Hospital Admissions

One person has died from dengue in the past 24 hours, with 16 new cases admitted to hospitals across the country. The total death toll this year reaches 12, with over 1,300 reported infections

Dhaka: One person has died from dengue fever in the past 24 hours, while 16 new cases have been admitted to various hospitals across the country during the same period.

This information was shared in a press release sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday, February 11.

The release stated that among the newly admitted dengue patients, two are from the Barishal Division (outside the city corporation area), seven from the Chattogram Division (outside the city corporation area), two from the Dhaka North City Corporation area, one from the Dhaka South City Corporation area, and four from the Khulna Division (outside the city corporation area).

Additionally, 21 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours. A total of 1,234 patients have been discharged this year so far.

As of February 11, 2024, a total of 1,340 people have been infected with dengue, with 61.8% of the cases being male and 38.2% female. Another death was reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from dengue this year to 12.

From January 1 to December 31, 2024, there were 101,214 reported cases of dengue, with 575 deaths. In comparison, during the same period last year (2023), dengue claimed the lives of 1,705 individuals, and 321,179 people were admitted to hospitals.
