The Shipowner Claims to Be Actress Popy's Husband

Dhaka: The news that former popular Bangladeshi actress Sadika Parveen Popy got married about a year ago caused quite a stir in the Dhaliwood film industry. However, the person whose name was linked to Popy initially denied the claim to the media, which caused the matter to be buried. But now, it has been revealed that this person is indeed Popy’s husband.

At the time, it was disclosed that Popy’s husband’s name is Adnan Uddin Kamal, a ship merchant by profession. The couple has a two-year-old son, and Popy was living in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi with her child. Reports also suggested that Popy was somewhat confined at home, as her husband’s family had yet to accept her.

After the news of Popy’s marriage went public, Adnan Uddin Kamal had denied the reports, claiming that Popy was merely a family friend and there was no question of marriage. He alleged that a certain group was conspiring against him by spreading such rumors.

In his personal life, Adnan is married and has three children. He also commented that his wife is quite enjoying the rumors of his marriage to Popy.

“It’s been made viral that I’m married to Popy, and my wife is quite enjoying this whole situation,” Adnan had said.

However, despite his denial of the marriage, within a year, Popy was seen beside Adnan Uddin Kamal, not only as his wife but also with their 4-year-old child.

On Monday (January 3), Popy’s younger sister, Firoza Parveen, filed a general diary (GD) at the Sonadanga Model Police Station in Khulna. This GD led to the discovery of Popy’s husband and child.

According to the GD, Adnan and his associates gathered at Shib Bari in Sonadanga around 12:30 pm on Monday to take control of ancestral land. When they were opposed, Popy and her husband reportedly threatened Firoza Parveen and others.

It was further revealed that on Monday, when Popy visited the house with some people, Adnan Uddin Kamal was also present. When journalists asked Kamal about his identity, he introduced himself as Popy's husband.

It is now known that Popy married Adnan Uddin Kamal about a year ago. They have a four-year-old son named Ayat. Currently, Popy is living with her husband in Khulna, although she visits Dhaka occasionally.

Recently, some photos of Popy with her husband and son surfaced in the media. One of the pictures showed the actress celebrating her son Ayat's birthday by cutting a cake with her husband and child.
