The interim government is preparing to hold elections by December, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has confirmed.

Speaking to the media on Monday after a meeting with the Chief Adviser at his residence in Jamuna, Fakhrul outlined the government's plans.

He stated that the Chief Adviser and his colleagues assured the BNP that arrangements for the elections would be made soon. The Chief Adviser further emphasized that efforts are underway to ensure the election process is completed by December. He also mentioned that a roadmap would be announced to meet the public's expectations, and the BNP hopes that elections will be concluded within the specified timeframe.

Earlier, at 6 p.m., a three-member BNP delegation, led by Fakhrul, met with the Chief Adviser for an hour-and-a-half-long discussion.
