Navalny's Wife Accuses Putin of Concealing the Truth About His Death

On the first anniversary of Alexei Navalny's death, his wife Yulia Navalnaya accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of concealing the truth about his death. She vowed that efforts to erase Alexei's memory would not succeed.

Dhaka: Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of the late opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of concealing the truth about her husband’s death. She made this allegation on the first anniversary of Navalny's passing.
According to a report from Qatar-based Al Jazeera, Alexei Navalny died on February 16, 2024, in an Arctic prison, with authorities labeling his death as natural. On the anniversary of his death, supporters gathered in Moscow to pay tribute at his grave.
In a video message, Yulia Navalnaya expressed her gratitude to those who have remembered Alexei, written about him, and visited his grave. She also thanked those who have supported her throughout the year. “Your letters and embraces when we meet remind me why Alexei did what he did, and why I continue to do what I do. If there are so many good people on one side, we cannot lose,” she said.
Yulia also accused Putin of attempting to erase Alexei’s memory, asserting that he has been hiding the truth about the killing and trying to create an understanding to wipe Alexei’s name from public memory. However, she vowed that Putin would not succeed.
In her message, she added, "The pain we feel makes us stronger, and this year has shown that we are more powerful than we ever thought."
