No Police Verification Required for Passport

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has announced that police verification will no longer be required to obtain a passport. He stated that the passport is a citizen’s right and will now be issued without police verification. Meta Description:

Interim Government Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has announced that police verification will no longer be required to issue passports. He made this statement at the inaugural session of the Deputy Commissioners' Conference on Sunday.

The Chief Adviser said, "A passport is our citizen's right. Whether I am a thief or a robber, that is for the police to determine. However, the national identity card or birth certificate I received was issued without any police verification. A passport is an identity document, and police verification will not be needed for it."

He also addressed the Deputy Commissioners: "In administrative work, we cannot escape by blaming one another. We must be vigilant to maintain discipline."

Dr. Yunus further emphasized, "From now on, all services will be provided online. It is wrong to receive a birth certificate just by paying money. All services should be digitalized."

The Chief Adviser inaugurated the three-day conference of District Commissioners at 10:30 AM today. On the first day of the conference, he will have an open discussion with the DCs.

The DC conference will conclude on February 18 (Tuesday).
