Young Woman Catches Mobile Snatcher in Uttara

A young woman in Uttara showed courage by chasing two mobile snatchers and handing one over to the police, aiding in their arrest. The stolen mobile phone was also recovered by the police.

Two mobile snatchers were apprehended despite fleeing the scene after their crime, thanks to the bravery of a young woman. The culprits, Tuhin and Kakon, were arrested and sent to jail after being caught in the act in Uttara on Thursday night.

According to reports, Nafisa Nawwar Mahi, a student at North South University, was returning to her home in Sector 18 of Uttara by battery-operated auto-rickshaw from the Khalsapara area. As she was near the Metro Rail Uttara North Station, two young men on a motorcycle snatched her vanity bag and mobile phone from behind.

Nafisa told dhaka banagla, “I saw the two youths near Boudh Bazaar in Sector 17 on my way home. I immediately instructed the rickshaw driver to chase them, and we managed to catch one of them. The other one fled with the phone.”

After gathering a crowd, Nafisa informed the police through the national emergency service, 999. The Turag Thana police arrived at the scene and arrested the snatcher, Tuhin. During interrogation, Tuhin revealed that his accomplice, Kakon, had fled with the phone.

Turag Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Rahat Khan, confirmed that the young woman filed a case at the police station that same night. Based on the case, an operation was launched to capture Kakon, and the stolen mobile phone was recovered. Both snatchers have been sent to jail via the court.
